Has America Lost its Way?

The answer to the question is found in the direction in which our nation is going. Are we going upward in virtue, honesty, and national merit? The Judeo-Christian ethic upon which our founding fathers and the Constitution were developed has changed into an era of open revolt and outright rebellion toward the moral standards of God as presented within the Bible. Apostate leaders, both within and without Christianity, have deceived so many. Moral compromise has led to open defiance of the laws of God! God's judgment upon the earth is not a new thing, “The Earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” (Isaiah 24:5)

Moral pollution has surpassed environmental pollution. The USA has gone down the road of obscenity, homosexuality and defiance. The rock-and-roll crowd is short-lived, “The mirth of tabrets ceaseth, the noise of them that rejoice endeth, the joy of the harp ceaseth.” (Isaiah 24:8) Sinners continue to lead our nation on the path of materialism and decline. We careen wildly out of control, led by homosexuals and their supporters, sinners and a sick entertainment industry, as our national debt mounts with foolish tax-and-spend methods. America has taken a wrong turn on the highway of godliness. Jesus told some Sadducees, “Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.” (Matt. 22:29)

The Bible has some warning signs to people and nations, “And before Him shall be gathered all nations: And He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth His sheep from the goats.” (Matt. 25:32) Nations, the people, the leaders, all will one day answer to a Holy God! Many Christians take a middle-of-the-road approach to sin. "Well, God loves sinners, but not their sin," is a popular cliche' in pulpit and pew. Yes, Romans 5:8 is true. However, this modernistic theology can become the base of a false, social gospel.

Some say she is behind every decision made in the White House. “As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them, O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.” (Isaiah 3:12) Has America lost its way? We have taken the wrong off-ramp. It's a long way back to the freeway of Hope. There is only one way back, “And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. Repent ye therefore, and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” (Acts 3:17,19)

There is a Highway to Heaven, but it is for the pure in heart. (Matthew 5:8)
